"Foot still heavy on the gas, now I'm speeding, started off in shitty situations, now I'm leaving...Good evening."
On Feb 25, 2010, D. Schwartz and Beewirks released their debut EP as D-Wirks with "Foot On The Gas". It's been a minute since we've heard from the dynamic duo, but they're back, this time with the intro track to the fabled "D-Wirks 2" project (yes, it's finally coming to fruition). What better way to start off the new year?
Very different in style from many of the first EP's tracks, but that's not necessarily a bad thing at all. This track shows not only the versatility of both the producer and MC, but the chemistry they have, which is why track after track these two continue to deliver.
If you somehow managed to sleep on their first release, it's still available for free download as well.
I would like 2 preface this post by shouting out all the cool ass bloggers who have been holding me down. This is about the Sucka Bloggas tholess than a minute ago via webD. Schwartz D_schwartz
I think I can speak for the vast majority when I say we're tired of all the sucka bloggas out there on the internets (and yes I realize there is at least some irony in posting this on a blog). With this track D. uses ATCQ's classic jam "Sucka Nigga" as a canvas to vent about some of the sucker shit these clowns have been up to.
The onslaught continues, with D. going over another track from 14kt, this one being twice as long as the previous freestyle. Shoutout to the good folks over at PleaseDontStare for premiering this one. Again, make sure to check out more of 14kt's music over at his Soundcloud page.
Rock The Bells is in a little more than a week. You're playing yourself if you don't go.
D. came across this instrumental from 14kt over at RapOhneLizenz, and after bumpin it continuously for over an hour, felt he had to lay down some flames on this. Yet another case of a beat that definitely goes hard on its own, but D's rendition just makes it that much better. Be sure to check out more of 14kt's music over at his Soundcloud page.
Go get those Rock The Bells tickets while you still can! D. will be hosting at all four stops this year!
Finally, some new heat from Beewirks and D. Schwartz. This isn't part of the yet-to-be titled "D-Wirks 2" project, just something to hold you over until then.
Tonight's the night! D. Schwartz performs at Revolution Live in Ft. Lauderdale, with Wiz Khalifa headlining. Show is completely SOLD OUT. If you're one of the lucky 1200 or so who'll be in attendance tonight, you're in for an amazing show. If not, it's all good, just light one up, and have a listen to the above track from last year's Derek Operation.
By the way, if anybody manages to get any footage of tonight's show, please send it my way.
D. did his own take on Rawse' Clark Kent produced single. Mixed by Beewirks.
Also, a reminder: Tickets are almost sold out for the June 20th show in Ft. Lauderdale. If you're in the area you don't want to miss it. Buy tickets HERE.
This is a track D. did over one of DJ Khalil's beats from his 'Chinatown Wars' beat tape. Khalil alone is crack, but D. really turned this joint into something special in my opinion. Remember to keep an eye out for 'D. Schwartz Is With You' and the second release from D-Wirks, coming soon.
Here are several freestyles in anticipation for D.'s upcoming mixtape 'May D. Schwartz Be With You'. The artwork shown above won't be the final cover used for the tape. Major props to all the sites who've taken the time to post any of these.
The debut EP release from D. Schwartz and producer Beewirks together as 'D-Wirks'. Also enclosed is a PDF file with commentary on each track, giving insight on how the songs were created. Don't forget to check out the 'Foot On The Gas' official video.

"This project was obviously inspired by the timeless beats from DJ Premier
that we have all been listening to for years. There is no way I could do all
of them, so I chose some of my personal favorites. It was also inspired by
all hip hop from the era where dope rhymes and fresh beats was what it
was all about. Shout out to my Golden Era of hip hop and artists like -
DJ Premier, Guru, Nas, Big Pun, Capone and Noreaga, AZ, Mobb Deep,
EPMD, The WHOLE Wu, Canibus, Redman, KRS, The Beatnuts, The Lox, BIG, Heltah Skeltah,
OGC, The Whole Duck Down, MOP, Group Home, OC, The Roots, Nature,
Cormega, JayZ, Mos, Monch, Slum Village, Kweli, Smooth Da Hustla,
De La, Tribe, I could go on and on, but if you know those people, then
you know what it is.
This is not intended for the mainstream "hip hop" audience. This is for a select
few who remember those days.
Thank You for downloading. D "
